About Pharos
Pharos is a managed maritime-intelligence service, designed and built by Yannis Mavroudis.
The founder
Yannis Mavroudis is a programme and AI-delivery leader with two decades in maritime operations. He served twenty years as an officer in the Hellenic Navy — as a weapons-engineering officer responsible for combat-management systems, radars, sensors and data links, and as commanding officer of a patrol vessel with a 45-member crew, operating within NATO and EU frameworks — before moving into technology and AI delivery.
He holds a PMP, an MSc in Information Systems, and a degree in Electrical, Electronics & Communications Engineering from the Hellenic Naval Academy. He continues to work operator-side in maritime security and compliance — ISM, ISPS and MLC — within a major Greek ship-management group.
Why Pharos exists
Pharos grew directly out of that experience. Across command, engineering and delivery roles, one pattern held: complex operations rarely fail because of bad people — they fail because no one has the whole picture while everyone else competently manages their own part of it. Pharos is built to close that gap for a fleet: one service that reads the position and security data a fleet already receives and turns it into a clear, plain-language risk brief on every vessel, every day.
Yannis architected, built and audited Pharos independently, integrating live position and security feeds with multiple AI models into a single operational view.
